Self Catering in Cornwall - Polcoverack Farm Cottages

Polcoverack Farm Cottages offer you a choice of four traditional stone built cottages. They are set within a coastal farm some 250 feet above sea level, and enjoy a sheltered and peaceful location, being well away from all traffic and public roads, yet within only half a mile of beach and village.

Overview of the cottages

Children are free to explore the gardens and woodland of some two and a half acres, or stroll down to the beach. Many parents in the meantime simply choose to relax in the gardens. Bluebells, foxgloves, wild daffodils, foxes, badgers, owls, buzzards and woodpeckers are all to be found at Polcoverack.

Coverack is one of the most unspoilt fishing villages in Cornwall, with a rock and sand beach. Church, inn, post office, stores and pretty thatched cottages are all arranged around the seventeenth century harbour. The village is situated on the eastern side of the Lizard Peninsula within just six miles of the Helford River. Kynance Cove, Mullion, Kennack Sands, Cadgwith Cove and Church Cove are all just a short car ride away.

Around Coverack itself, there are many cliff and moorland walks to be enjoyed. Much of the land surrounding us is owned and managed by either the National Trust or English Nature.

Fishing trips can be arranged down at the harbour, where there is also a highly regarded windsurfing centre, where holiday makers of all ages can receive tuition. Diving is available locally, at Porthkerris, whilst pony trekking can be arranged at Poltesco and Mullion. Golfing enthusiasts need not despair, since there is also a friendly golf club at Mullion, which is open to non-members.

Our cottages can be reached from two directions, one, via a private lane over English Nature moorland, of just over half a mile in length from the north, the other, via another private lane, this time from Coverack of just under half a mile in length.

Coverack whilst only a small village provides a general store and several eating establishments. No matter if it's a cream tea, fish and chips, pub, bar snacks, or a speciality fish supper you fancy, you will not have far to travel. St Keverne, a slightly larger inland village, is just two and a half miles away, there you will find a Londis store with cash machine and an in house bakery, also a post office, two public houses, restaurant etc.

The nearest railway stations are at Penzance, Falmouth and Redruth. National bus sevices run to Helston, Falmouth and Truro from throughout the UK. If you are arriving by public transport and require to be met please let us know.
